Re: Stripping/refinishing maple lab table tops

Phys-l'rs,

Does anyone out there have any experience in stripping and refinishing 4'x
8' laminated maple lab table tops? Ours have seen 20+ years of service and
have recently become the target of doodlers, graffiti artists, etc. We
would like
to talk to the people that made the tables but alas, no one remembers who the
company is.

Any ideas, wisdom, etc. would be appreciated.

You could contact Fisher Scientific. They produced a lot of the lab
furniture that is in use today. But that probably won't help with the
refinishing chores. You Need:
Lots of help,
Lots of clear, clean, well ventilated space,
Lots of stripping compound,
Lots of rubber gloves,
Lots of sand paper,
A high tolerance for evil smelling solutions,
and
Lots and Lots of elbow grease!!!!
