But is this any different than IF they had MEMORIZED the formulas? Jim
Green commented earlier that given the formulas students simply try to
plug in the numbers. Is there really a difference when they've memorized
these--other than being able to give partial credit for 'knowing' the
formula?

I hope that the College Board will do some investigating about future use. I
was once a proponent, but am no longer convinced. I will be interested to see
what comes of this.
