You learn from it.

That's not an advantage, because you can learn just as
much without being wrong.

I'll say it one more time: You should consider *all*
the plausible scenarios. Then you don't have to guess,
and you don't have to be Wrong.

That's the technical argument.

The pedagogical / psychological argument is also important:
A lot of people have a visceral aversion to being Wrong.
If you teach them how to be scientific *without* being
Wrong all the time, they're going to like you better, and
like science better.
