Re: [Phys-L] Stubborn brain habits

I was invited on a bike ride in my early teens by a friend. The conversation got around to steering bikes cross-handed, which implies reversed controls. He explained it is really really difficult. And after viewing the "Backwards Bike" video, I venture to suggest it is impossible, because it calls for fast reversal of 'built-in' muscular responses. At this time, I used a bike whose geometry made hands-off riding quite practical - still I fell immediately when I tried.
