The Tychoian model that John mentioned did have other problems if you believed in crystal spheres. The sphere crashed into each other.
An interesting question is what constitutes proof that the earth is in fact moving?

Comment: Not everything is relative. Galileo showed that if
everything in the solar system went around the earth the
phases of Venus would not be what he observed.
