Re: [Phys-L] Would a Carbon Tax Save Life on Planet Earth?

bc has hit an important point. In our core physics courses, we have to grab the interest of the non-science majors. We have to allow them to include their developing areas of expertise into the argument.

But what does carbon taxes have to do with learning physics?

Teach the physics of climate change..

Don't teach political biases, left nor right and carbon taxes is an
economic and political issue.

It could be an example of modeling and Fermi questioning?

bc thinks by using a peripheral physics problem that is more current (interesting?) it would provoke interest in students.

bc grasping at a straw.
