This is a std. (common) HS lab using an acoustical ranger. the "The Physics Teacher" has at least one article describing it.


bc noticed it a project at N. Salinas HS while "demoing " a nuclear radiation project a decade ago.

p.s. RAFT sells giant (restaurant) filters for paper chromatography. I bought a pack to compare area in addition to mass variation.
