Suggestion: 'space' is an everyday life-world notion, not a scientific concept. I agree that my personal notion of space is beyond/without the measurable atmosphere of a planet/star etc. So this satellite was within the measurable atmosphere...

If 'space' /*is*/ defined technically/operationally, then where does it begin?
