This year the PhysTEC conference is in Baltimore, MD on March 16-17, 2013, the weekend before the APS March meeting in Baltimore, MD. This year's conference theme is Preparing the Next Generation of Physics Teachers, and features plenary talks by Dr. Richard Steinberg, Dr. Michael Marder, and Dr. Catherine Good. The closing plenary panel will discuss the implications of the Next Generation Science Standards on the preparation of teachers of physics and chemistry. This panel includes Dr. Helen Quinn (chair of the NRC Framework committee), and several members of the NGSS writing team (Dr. Ramon Lopez, Dr. Melanie Cooper, and Andy Jackson).
