Il est essentiel et urgent d'alerter les autorités compétentes en France sur l'importance de ces fonds afin de les encourager à préempter lors de la vente.

The scientific manuscripts of Émilie Du Châtelet and Voltaire, mostly concerning their work on Newton, and documents on their life together at Cirey and elsewhere, will be sold at auction in Paris on 29 October next. They have not been seen since 1749...

It is vital and urgent that the French authorities be convinced of the importance of these manuscripts in order to justify their intervention during the sale. They can preempt in favour of the Bibliothèque nationale de France or the Archives de France.
