8 years, 100,000 miles for the Volt and Prius. We've passed the time on the Prius, and the milage has dropped some, probably from a less efficient battery. Since it's no longer our primary car, I'm not sure when we might replace the Prius's battery. The price for a battery has come down since we bought the Prius in 2004. Toyota now charges $2600 for a new main battery, but I think there have been more wrecks than dead batteries, so it might be possible to get a salvaged battery for less. The
