Re: [Phys-L] other problems with what is (or isn't) on the test

Teacher school board members?... One here, one there... look around... mostly composed of the local stockbrokers, lawyers, insurance salespeople, maybe a few who are actually parents of kids who go to the district ( a few at that).... even many who have kids in parochial schools and who think if they can do it anyone can (send their kids to parochial schools, that is)

No, BC I'm sticking to my statement.

In fact, in many of the local suburban districts around here in South Jersey many if not most younger teachers cannot afford to live in the districts they teach in, let alone run for board.

Ask your local JQ PUblic: Teachers unions are the main cause of the high taxes, yet at the same time why did they move there? "For the good schools". The cause of high taxes in this State is the high cost of schools... in other districts, not theirs!

One of the Salinas Union HS District Board Members is a retired colleague** of Nancy's in the Alisal Elementary School District. Both have taught there for over 20 years.

** Husband is retired ceramic teacher in the Salinas HS.
