I should preface this as NOT being a Physics question.
We have a group of local Physics teachers that gets together to share lessons, demos, etc., and they have asked me to attend now and again. Recently, being the only college-related person in the room, they asked me if I had ever heard of James Cook University. Apparently some of them need coursework above their current level, and they've found that James Cook offers a: Masters of Astronomy, Doctorate of Astronomy, and PhD all online. They wanted my input on the quality of the coursework and whether it was just another "diploma mill".
Honestly, I had never heard of it, and that is what I told them. However, I told them I would ask around and find out what I could. The start of the James Cook University Centre for Astronomy website is:
The university is listed in several places that seem reliable, but I was wondering if any of you have any insight/knowledge about the place that I could pass along?
