Around here you can get 12V 50W bulbs for 2 or 3 bucks.

FWIW you can get lots of closely-regulated 12V power by
cannibalizing the power supplies from old, cast-off desktop
PCs. An ATX power supply should be good for 100W at 12V,
sometimes much more, e.g. if the box was meant to support
lots of disk drives.

This works better than "battery charger"-type power
pods, which tend to have unreasonable amounts of ripple.
