Of course there are no bears at the south pole ... perhaps he
mistook it for a penguin.


There aren't any penguins at the S. Pole either, too far from coast.
Perhaps he mistook it for a Wooly Mamouth. See news stories about live
wooly mamouth seen in Siberia.
