[Phys-l] Physics Education Position at Illinois State University

Assistant Professor, Physics Teacher Education

The Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in our
large and growing Physics Teacher Education (PTE) program, starting August 16, 2012, and
contingent upon the availability of funds.  A PhD in Physics or a closely related field is required. The
successful applicant will show excellent potential for research that can involve undergraduates,
demonstrated teaching skills, and a strong interest in teacher preparation.  Primary teaching and
service duties will be in the PTE program.  Preference will be given to physics education research or
research areas that complement existing department strengths, and to candidates with strong interest
or demonstrated experience in PTE.  Post-doctoral experience and the potential for attracting external
