Reminds me of the concept time constant. This applies to bolometers, inter alia.


One may make a bolometer using copper foil (rolled into a cone or as a rectangular horn) to which one solders one or a bunch of thermocouples or a single "grain of wheat" thermistor glued, etc. One may support the horn on a glass rod inside a small vacuum chamber or lacking a pump, etc. inside a styrofoam block.
