[Phys-l] Fwd: Re: radioactivity in the news -- actual measurements

Nature just published a map of radiation measurements near the Japan reactors:

Thanks to all who pointed me to various sites which have actual data
about radioactivity coming from the reactors in Japan. Here is an
excellent site that spells out the exposure risks (mSv) and
contamination risks (Bq/kg):

http://www.fda.gov/Food/FoodSafety/FoodContaminantsAdulteration/ChemicalContaminants/Radionuclides/UCM078341

This site seems to be a summary of the (massive) 1990 BEIR* V report of
the effects of radiation (which is available online also at
http://www.nap.edu/openbook.php?isbn=0309039959):
http://web.princeton.edu/sites/ehs/osradtraining/biologicaleffects/page.htm

The best sources of information about radiation in Japan (based on the
previous emails seem to be):

Site which has food contamination figures:
http://www.mhlw.go.jp/english/topics/2011eq/level_m23.html

Site which has accident details, including exposure rates:
http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/fukushima_accident_inf129.html

And the previously mentioned EPA monitoring site for the US:
