Re: [Phys-l] display case

Check w/ Stanford. The basement floor (instructional labs and seminar rooms floor) hall has interactive displays, etc. Very good. Don't remember if any cases. Some of the displays are, of course, enclosed for "protection".

I rescued a large display case from Geology and put it next to my office/prep. lab. There are hook locks for sliding glass doors that I used. I kept mainly antique app. in it. It's now in the new building w/ a sand pendulum, pendulum wave machine, inter alia on it, and inside is (was) the computer shoe,** and other that I don't remember.

bc thinks, if possible, use LEDs so no domestic power. required.

p.s. Before the remodeling UCB has such built in a wall, IIRC. And NPS has a seismograph and an acoustic speedometer (kinescope display) The case DIY (plastic and wood, IIRC)

I teach in the high school and plan to get a hallway display case to
highlight physics. I am wondering if any of you have such a thing and can
recommend a case. I want it to be low enough so that our youngest students
an have a look. I would also like it to have an outlet/light for any
optics displays. How deep should it be? It will have a security lock.

Cost is really not an issue. Just want something I can easily change every
month to show different physics topics, awards, projects, etc.
