this reminds me of a light that was commercial for a short time as a "night lite". Electro-luminexcence.

I don't know why this method was abandoned. I presume it was efficient, but has a very low output. Easily made in large areas tho.


Very easily made using a Cd salt and thio-urea w/ IIRC a small amount of Cu salt.
