Marilyn has much wider influence than Martin Gardner as can be seen when
both published versions of the three prisoners problem. Gardner received a
few replies, but Marilyn received a huge number. Marilyn's solution was
correct, but the counterintuitiveness of the answer provoked a storm.
Actually Gardner submitted some puzzles to Marilyn's column and paid
attention to it. So Marilyn may have some educational value.
