[Bill Nettles] This is merely one hypothesis, plus you have to define "easier". The data does not support this. What you said sounds like some of my students:"I studied hard and I know this material. I just couldn't put it together for the test."

Hej! He wrote "other things being equal". Test w/ a "batting machine at the various parks w/ no wind and same sun and temp. -- Hell, I can't believe this is necessary.

This is such a valuable talking point: the dilemma being this:
Which should have greater weight in the decision process:
carefully recorded and historically comprehensive data
or...
common sense conceptions of what should be?

There can only be one right answer to this dilemma, as it seems to me.
