However, I didn't view it (half life) instead the question: what happens when one "microwaves" liquid nitrogen?

Rather good experimental technique, but .... the explanation is incomplete. They reason correctly water is polar and N is not, however nitrogen does absorb at other wavelengths for a different reason.
