Re: [Phys-l] 19th century physics demos

Very interesting, indeed, Joe. Thanks.

I would like to add my recommendation to all physics teachers who visit Florence. The Science Museum is not to be missed! I spent a day there on my visit of three days, and I spent no time at all at the Uffizi, with which the Science Museum is back-to-back. (It wasn't worth standing in line.) Physics teachers will come away with many things they can use in future teaching. The Galileo collection alone is worth the visit. You can take a virtual tour of the museum (but a visit is better!) at <http://www.imss.fi.it/>.
