A few additional useful rules of thumb:
Speed of sound *in water*: 1.5 mm MHz
I remember thermal energy at room temperature by 1/40 eV, which is of course exactly what JD says.
Near Earth's surface, length of a simple pendulum in meters ~ 1/4*T^2, with T in seconds.
Specific gravities: Pb ~ 11; Hg ~ 14; Au ~ 19. Thus my scoffing when movie people throw around gold bricks so easily.
