This is a perfect example of overstepping the bounds of science. Life evolving based on natural selection says absolutely nothing about divine guidance. One can believe that a divine hand directed the process or set up the process or whatever. Scientists cannot disprove religious beliefs. That's the very property that makes religious beliefs unscientific.

My question is, what does it matter if someone believes the scientific theory yet holds on to an ultimate explanation based on ID? Does that in any way hamper the scientific enterprise?
