One more objection, which I can't believe I didn't notice earlier -- it's a pet peeve: choices 3 and 4 should be rejected apart from any buoyancy issues: "A net force due to ____ force" is a bad construction. NET forces are not due to any ONE force unless that happens to be the only force (which in this case, it is not).
