Not just the "official" definition of g, but our every day practical experience of g as well. As has been discussed here many times, g is literally nothing more than a measure of the degree of divergence from a state of freefall.

Its only somewhat above the level of AP-C if centrifugal effects are
deemed somewhat above the level AP-C
