And some of us will be treated to mice view of Venus sliding behind the dark edge of the moon in the early morning. (East coasters will only see a near miss of the 'Venus-Moon collision'.)

You never know exactly when the peak will show up, but
if it shows up early or late it is probably weak so you
won't feel bad about missing it.

Lyrids are not particularly numerous, but some of them
are huge and bright and leave glowing trails.
