I just read that male chimpanzees give certain females pieces of meat from their hunting kills and that those females later preferentially go to those males when they are in heat.

Seems like a benefit of redistribution to me.

If you go to the www.NYTimes.com science section you will find an article
about wealth redistribution in both other societies and in non human
societies " Taxing, a Ritual to Save the Species". Just yelling at each
other over the topic might be tempered by some rational discussion after
reading this, or maybe not!
