I was referring to the cause and the immediate occurrence, not after.

After the Maya revolution the culture collapsed.  After the  
disbandment of the Soviet Union the various states didn't collapse.   
Russia on it's own is becoming a super power in response to NATO's  
encroachments and violation of agreements.  If Obama doesn't  
backtrack we'll likely have another cold war.

p.s. In my visits east I never heard the words communist or  
communism;  it was always socialist or socialism or the socialist  
block.  I, of course, am NO expert on the east, as I only spent there  
a total of about three months.  It seemed just an extreme version of  
the socialism of GB where I lived, during its socialist period, three  
years.  Not incidentally referring to the distribution of wealth and  
tax brackets, the top bracket there (UK) was /19 6d   /    £  i.e.  
that's 97.5%!
