Re: [Phys-l] SOLAR , NUCLEAR ENERGY etc.

When I was a high school student I was a caddy at Santa Ana Country Club, where the wealthy played golf. They would make bets in the $100 range on each hole (that was when $100) was goodly sum of money, then they would tip us caddies $3.00 at the end of 18 holes. Generous, NOT!

I'm in total agreement with Bob. As societies improve their standard of
living and have adequate supplies of energy to do so, they also reduce
their birthrates. Many of the world's problems relate to this issue.

The wealthy in our free society are generally quite generous in donations
to charity and even with tips to waiters and cab drivers. My preference
is that people should have the right to choose what happens to their hard
earned wealth, rather than the government taking it, and spreading it
around. With the present class warfare that's going on, the money will be
taken from the productive wealthy, leaving everyone in poverty and
dependent on the government.

Wealth does not require redistribution in a free society that has a
constitution that respects it's citizens and their property rights. Wealth
goes to those who most deserve it - and indirectly, even to those who
don't. The wealthy grow the wealth of the entire country while they are
gathering their own. The non-productive elements of a free society get to
partake partake in that increased bounty. The rich (in a free economy)
deserve their wealth - the poor deserve their smaller portion.

None of us would sanction taking points from the high achievers in our
classes and redistribute them to the non-performers. Yet somehow that's OK
when wealth is involved.

If one really wants to clean up the environment, vigorously support
economic and social freedom for everyone - especially those in countries
ruled by despots and other central planner types.

Yes, it was the same in feudal times too. If it weren't for the
generosity
and humanity of the lords of the manor, the lazy peasants would have
starved to death.
