[Phys-l] atmosphere

I'm teaching about planetary atmospheres in astronomy. I've read about
sunlight breaking down methane and ammonia in Earth's ancient atmosphere
to produce hydrogen, carbon, and nitrogen. I guess this is called
photodissociation. I'm no chemistry expert, but does anyone know the
chemical reactions for this? I looked online but could not find them, only
water forming hydrogen and oxygen, and oxygen forming ozone.
