Re: [Phys-l] COLD FUSION

Sorry everyone, I cannot get used to the fact that "reply" functions like "reply to all" on this list. Doesn't make any sense.

Obviously, that message was just intended for Ludwik.

Dr. Kowalski;

A couple of questions:

1) First, I was thinking that we were expecting to get more pits on the chip exposed to the reaction than the one exposed to the atmosphere. But, if these are alpha particles, would they be able to penetrate the thick plastic tube that I used for my electrolysis vessel? Is the fact that we got any pits at all on the test chip evidence that the reaction is producing particles? Or do we actually need more pits on the test chips than on the control chips?

2) If we are supposed to get more pits on the test chips, would it be possible for you to send us a complete setup? I'd be happy to reimburse you for the materials, CR-39, and shipping. His science fair project would be much better if he got some positive results.

Thanks,
Mike and Mikey

Dear all,

Those who read

http://pages.csam.montclair.edu/~kowalski/cf/369oriani.html

might remember The Curie Project. It took longer than expected but
three out of four participants (including myself) already submitted
the results. The last participant will do the same on Saturday. Out
paper, describing the project and results will probably be ready in
January. Non of us knew the results of others at the time of
submitting the results to me. In that sense we will have four
independent answers to a simple question--are the results reported by
Oriani reproducible or not. More about this later.

Happy holidays to all,

Ludwik's new book (autobiography) see:
