A taxonomist [Kay Lancaster] was able to point out the typo in the 
"World Science" piece that I quoted:
For / Physi­por­i­nus vit­rius/,     read / Physis­por­i­nus vit­reus/.
This will reveal its membership in fungus catalogs such as that held by 
USDA.
