[Phys-l] May I pick your brain?

At the winter meeting of AAPT, I have been asked to speak on a panel "How Educational Technologies Can Reach New and Cross-over Teachers Who ALSO Teach Physics".
My topic will be:
Social Networking for New and Cross-over Physics Teachers

Usually there is only one physics teacher per district (if that!), and
physics teachers can get lonely. Traditionally, scientists like
face-to-face discussions about their research and teaching. The good
news is that new social networking software is making it possible to
"talk" to colleagues all over the world. Although it is perhaps less
satisfying than face-to-face contact, the use of social software does
facilitate meaningful conversations and the exchange of information and
ideas. I will talk briefly about blogs, wikis, Instructional Architect,
and services like connotea.

My question is what did you find helpful when you were suddenly teaching physics? Do you use any social software? Would you find any of these helpful?

I don't have a wiki that is relevant to physics teachers, but wonder if you use them.

Thanks,
Pat
