Whenever I hard boil white eggs, I put some brown onion skin in the water to mark them, to distinguish them from raw ones in the fridge.
I also put an ounce or two of vinegar in the water. This seems to make the peeling better.
Sometimes when I used skin from red onion, the eggs came out bright yellow.
