Re: [Phys-l] Another alternative theory horror

Why does a layman need to understand evolution? Let's say you get
leukemia and need a bone marrow transplant because the leukemia cells
have become resistant to the different types of chemo you have had to
endure several times. After each chemo treatment, a few of the cancer
cells, the "strongest" cells, survive to reproduce and accumulate in your
marrow once again. Each bone marrow biopsy you are forced to suffer is
analyzed using genetic studies. The doctors want to see the DNA of each
cell to see how many cells are donor cells and how many cells remain
yours and to see if any cancer cells survived. I for one, a Christian,
am eternally grateful for the discovery of the DNA molecule and for the
imagination of Darwin to see the obvious and put it into a remarkable
theory that has evolved into the cornerstone for all of science. I am
thankful for the creative and motivated HS science teachers who inspire
her/his students into pursuing a career in science. Understanding how
cells, molecules "evolve" to cause the change in living organisms over
time will ultimately lead to discover how blood cells or any cell turns
cancerous. IMHO, evolution is God at work. It is miraculous!
