[Phys-l] new feature ADS (astrophysics data service)

The NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) has added a new feature especially for science teachers. The service is called Science Education Search and allows one to search across many science education journals at once and even locate a review article.

In order to use the service, which is free, one must set up an account. To set up an account based on your email address, go to:
http://adsabs.harvard.edu/ and click on "sign on" in the upper right hand side of the screen. Register, and then go to the main page:
http://adsabs.harvard.edu/

From the main page of ADS, click on highly customizable querry forms and choose Science Education Search.

FIRST PARAGRAPH
The ADS maintains three bibliographic databases containing more than 6.2 million records: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Physics, and arXiv e-prints. The main body of data in the ADS consists of bibliographic records, which are searchable through highly customizable query forms <http://adsabs.harvard.edu/ads_abstracts.html>, and full-text scans of much of the astronomical literature which can be browsed or searched <http://adsabs.harvard.edu/ads_browse.html> via our full-text search interface.

At the very least, a searcher will get a complete citation and abstract for relevant articles. If you institution subscribes to the source of the article on-line, one can get the full text article.

Cheers,
Pat
