Re: [Phys-l] Physics Grammar

Not necessarily. Some of us still us HP calculators with RPN notation. To me the sentence says that reflection is the response to the cause. I want to know how the response is measured. The angle of incidence is something which already exists. The angle of reflection equals the previously existing angle of incidence.

Of course, I have no idea what happens to the order in French because they say silly stuff like "I you love" and "Systeme Internationale" ;)

Quoting Larry Smith <larry.smith@snow.edu>:

Item # 2:
Law of Reflection: “The angle of reflection equals the angle of
incidence.” This statement follows the light through the process of
reflection: incidence precedes reflection. The statement, “The angle
of incidence equals the angle of reflection” implies that incidence
follows reflection, which is not the way things happen.

You can also nitpick on Item # 2 instead of the first one.
Maybe based on Feynman sum over histories approach?
