Re: [Phys-l] [ap-physics] Robotics course help?

In Ohio (Cleveland area) we have a LEGO Olympiad competition each year at our
local community college (Lorain County Community College = LCCC) that has an
electronic robotic division. It's well attended by all age ranges. Last
year's robotics division was timed as it went up an carpeted incline that was
steeper at the top than at the bottom without falling off the ramp. Perhaps
you could find one of these competitions close to you? It was fairly
inexpensive to participate.

Good Luck! Joan Drobnak

OK, I start a new 14 week robotics elective for high school seniors
on Monday (never taught before).
I managed to get my hands on some LEGO NXT sets, and have planned out
the whole 14 weeks - but really won't know how good/realistic the
plans are =)

Has anyone on the ap-physics or phys-l listserves taught a course
like this?
5 days a week for 14 weeks

Any concrete suggestions or references?

Pointers to friendly, local, low budget, competitions?
Our school is in oakland ca, across the bay from san francisco.

Any suggestions for invited speakers and/or videos?

Thanks,

Owen
