ABSTRACT: In response to a request for e-learning journal
suggestions, I provide 6 that add to those in previous POD posts: 4
by Patrick Whitaker (2007) and 3 by Britt Watwood that were not
listed by Whitaker. In addition, I list two books from the
Association for Educational Communications & Technology that might be
of value to those interested in e- or distance-learning.

"e-learning journal suggestions?" wrote:
"I've had a request from a faculty member to be subscribed to a
journal devoted to e-learning. . . . What are your favorite pubs
about e-learning?"
Before I transmit a post titled "E-learning: Is there any" as a
companion to "Distance Learning: Is There Any?" [Hake (2007)], I
need an *operational definition* of "e-learning" [even despite the
anti-positivist vigilantes (Phillips (2002)].
"E-learning (also called elearning or eLearning), is the delivery of
a learning, training, or education program by electronic means.
E-learning involves the use of a computer or electronic device (e.g.
a mobile phone) in some way to provide training, educational, or
learning material."
Thus, according to Stockley, "e-learning" is not necessarily the same
as "distance learning."
With that in mind, I should like to add to the recommendations on
e-learning journals by Patrick Whitaker (2007) and Britt Watwood
(2007) the following:
Also of possible value to those interested in e- or distance-learning
are the AECT's: (a) e-book "Emerging Perspectives on Learning,
Teaching, and Technology" [Orey (2001)], and (b) "Distance
Education: Definition and Glossary of Terms" [Schlosser & Simonson
(2006)].
