Richard Bowman said our eyes are not CRTs. That's true, but I think we can
make a pretty interesting statement that eyes and CRTs are like inverses of
each other.
The CRT screen is RGB phosphors arranged in a curved two dimensional array.
The picture displayed on the CRT begins as a stream of electrical signals
sent to the CRT phosphors to make the correct phosphors light.
In the eye, we have a curved two dimensional array of three sensors,
somewhat RGB, that receive light and create electrical signals.
Essentially the eye is a CRT in reverse.
