I would like to second Krishna Chowdary's praise of Daniel Schroeder's
book. I'm using it for the third time this term. The text is readable,
has good topics, good problems, etc. The solutions manual is also
pretty good. Finally, the size is about right (not too long, not too
brief) and the price is reasonable.
