Ah, so it's a discussion you're after then?

This thread offers the uncontested explanation that nitrogen fill
provides a longer pressurized time than air, on account of the
molecular sieve properties of the common automobile tire.

What have those blue-water sailors been fussing about, with their
periodic flushing and pickling to which they treat their
membranes in the precious reverse osmosis gear they carry?
The gear that transforms the brine to potable water....

If that's all it takes: a water pump for a few hundred psi
and a support cage for the tire or inner tube then I am on
a commercial winner!
