I've recently noticed that my long 2-metersticks are becoming warped, even

suggestions on how to correct this? Would taping or clamping them securely

cause?
We used to straighten out warped 2x4's by getting them good and wet and then
screwing them down to the floor for a period of time. Would something
similar work for the 2-metersticks? I'd appreciate any advice!

Wood laths work (i.e. distort) by losing or gaining moisture.
Boatbuilders prepare laths for significant bends by
1) soaking
2) steaming
3) soaking in water with ammonia added.
- in order of aggressiveness
(This last method is reputed to produce
spaghetti until the wood dries again.)

Drying a lath in a cool environment on a straight former
can do the job.
