bc, who attempts to open every attachment he receives, even known viruses, and has never caught a cold or, horrors, the flu.
p.s. frequently my OS asks me to install updates for the OS and bundled apps. Usually includes security enhancements.

If you're running a Microsoft mail-reader, this is sort of a catch-22
situation. You see an attachment. You don't know it's harmless
unless/until you open it, but you dare not open it unless/until
you already know it's harmless. Hmmmmm.
The only solution is to run software that doesn't have so many
security holes. This includes the mail-reader software as well
as the operating system.
