I haven't been following this discussion too closely so I apologize if
this is completely off topic.

If current is really a vector, that means that what we've been calling
"current" is really the "magnitude of the current", correct? For
example:
* The "I" in the definition of resistance (see
<http://www.av8n.com/physics/resistance.htm>)
* The I's in the "junction rule"
