Actually "film badges" is an old term. They are personal dosimeters=
that are about 2 inch square. Up until about 10 years ago they were =
made of x-ray film, hence the name. Now most are the same shape but =
are TLD's instead of film. We use them in our accelerator lab for ra=
diation monitoring. (the lab is a very low level x-ray environment, b=
ut we do the monitoring to avoid *any* legal questions). You can get=
them from Global Dosimetry, Irvine California, www.dosimetry.com ,=
if you really want to go through the expense.
