[Phys-L] Re: 'hyperspace' engine

Well, two comments: Firstly, it's "Trekker", not "trekkie", and the
deposits of dilithium always seemed to be found on planets with "backward"
civilizations (perhaps accounting for the skimpy outfits) by both the
Federation and either the Romulans or the Klingons simultaneously, so there
was always a struggle for control. Amazing, given the size of the galaxy,
that everybody ended up at the same spot at the same time <g>! So I guess I
raised you a geeky, and we're now at geeky squared!

Just a little more geeky:
dilithium was a material that would allow antimatter to pass through
itself and be focused to create the warp field.
Rare, but frequently found in the near vicinity of scantily clad
beautiful women on exotic planets.

What is dilithium?

In the fictional "Star Trek" universe, dilithium is that piece of
techno-babble which permits the star ships to travel at warp speed -
i.e. faster than light.
